Muka muka, fashion lovers! The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is back and bolder than ever, and let me tell you, this year’s extravaganza was a whole mood. From iconic Angels to groundbreaking inclusivity, this show had it all. But first, let’s talk about the stars of the runway:
The Angels (and Some New Faces):
Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Barbara Palvin, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Precious Lee, Kate Moss..and the legendary Tyra Banks and Ashley Graham to list a few
Yes, you read that right. Tyra freakin’ Banks graced the runway, and Ashley Graham continued to slay as a body positivity icon. Now, I gotta admit, I was a little bummed that Tyra only had one (very short) outfit. I understand she’s a busy mama and a legend in her own right, but come on, VS, give the queen more screen time! And that outfit? Not my fave for her, but hey, she still rocked it.
The Music That Made Us Move:
LISA: Okay, y’all, LISA was the highlight of the night for me. “Rockstar” to kick off the show? I was a bit bummed because an opener usually isn’t a headline, but I mean with Cher Lisa is a newer artist than Cher. She brought Pure energy! And then pleasent surprise; “Moonlit Floor” for a sultry halftime performance? Give this woman all the awards! I was pleasantly surprised she did two songs, and I’m officially obsessed. (PS: Did you know she and Tyla might be collaborating on a song? I’m so here for it!)
Tyla: I wasn’t too familiar with Tyla before the show, but she absolutely killed it. Her performance was captivating, and I’m definitely adding her to my playlist.
Cher: Need I say more? Cher is an icon, a legend, and she proved she’s still got it. Showcasing all of her iconic, some might say…daring looks! (super sexy at the Ocsars!)
Her performance was the perfect grand finale, and she had the whole audience on their feet. Raise the roof, Cher!
Woke-ness Done Right:
Now, I know some of my friends are rolling their eyes at the whole “woke” thing. And yeah, sometimes it feels a bit forced. But you know what? Rihanna understood the assignment with Savage X Fenty. Inclusivity isn’t just good business; it’s about making everyone feel seen and represented. And
Victoria’s Secret finally seems to be catching on. Seeing Ashley Graham rocking lingerie and proving that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes? That’s powerful.
Final Thoughts:
As someone who’s always dreamed of strutting down the VS runway in a jockstrap (a boy can dream!), this year’s show was a reminder of why I love this spectacle. It’s about confidence, beauty, and celebrating diversity. Sure, it had its flaws (ahem, Tyra’s outfit), but overall, it was a fantastic show that left me feeling energized and inspired. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to practice my runway walk… muka muka!
