Maikaru was born into unfortunate circumstance, but was able to survive and have a documentary short made about his story. That went on to win big at SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival) Best Documentary short, go on PBS, and end up almost nominated for an Academy Award but that was the first year of #Oscarsowhite.

Being the subject inspired him to be a storyteller, thus Mainasty Productions was born.

Our mission is to increase Diverse and Inclusion narratives across all media including but not limited to short films, commercials, podcasts, game shows, feature films, and tv.
